Anne Armitage – Hospital Director
Anne initially trained and worked as a General Nurse at Barnsley District General Hospital prior to undertaking herpsychiatric nurse training.  Shortly after qualifying she took a post within an NHS Medium Secure Mental Health service.

The majority of Anne’s career has been spent working within secure Mental Health Services, having held managerial posts within High and Medium secure service.

Prior to joining Raphael Healthcare in February 2007, Anne worked within the East Midlands & South Yorkshire Commissioning Team in the capacity of Senior Forensic Nurse Advisor and then Acting Commissioning and Performance Manager.  This involved ensuring patients from the East Midlands and South Yorkshire region accessed the right level and quality of care within their treatment pathway.

Phil Coombes – Deputy Clinical Director/ Lead Psychologist
Phil studied psychology at Middlesex University in 1997 before taking a number of posts in the prison service where he spent six years.  During his time in this setting Phil developed services and delivered a number of specialist programmes, working across a number of different security settings.

In 2002 Phil moved to the high secure setting of Rampton Hospital in the NHS and gained full chartered status as Forensic Psychologist working in both the Personality Disorder and Mental Illness directorate.

Phil joined The Farndon Unit In 2007 as lead psychologist and became Deputy Clinical Director in 2009 working in specialist areas that include personality disorder, mental illness, trauma and abuse, bereavement work.

Naomi Stanfield – Head of Occupational Therapy
Naomi trained as an Occupational Therapist at the University of Teesside in 1999 and after qualifying in 2002 she worked as a mental health practitioner for County Durham & Darlington Priority Services NHS Trust which then developed into the super trust of Tees, Esk and Wear Valley's NHS Trust.

Naomi joined The Farndon Unit in 2007 as Acting Occupational Therapist Leader and in April 2009 became the permanent Head of the Occupational Therapy department and a member of the Senior Management Team.

Naomi is also a member of the Health Profession’s Council and the College of Occupational Therapists.

Carol Collins – Head of Social Work
Carol graduated from the University of Derby with a degree in Psychology before undertaking a Masters degree in Social Work at the University of Nottingham in 2002.

Prior to Carol’s social work career, she worked as a cook in a nursing home before becoming a care assistant.  Carol then undertook work as a mentor for youth offenders on a voluntary basis and then took a position as an agency residential social worker with children and families while studying at university.

In 2006, Carol moved into a forensic environment with Nottinghamshire County Council, managing patients in hospitals and the community before joining The Farndon Unit in 2008, becoming a valued member of the Senior Management Team and was involved in the hospital winning a CPA Association award in 2009.

Carol was also a foster parent for troubled children for a considerable period of time.

Sara Attenborough – Mental Health Act and Operational Systems Manager
Sara graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2000 having studied Human Physiology before taking a variety of data administration positions within the NHS managing, maintaining and analysing clinical data as well as identifying and investigating areas of poor performance.

In 2003 Sara moved into secure mental health, joining the East Midlands and South Yorkshire Commissioning Team where she was responsible for the commissioning, management and monitoring of service level agreements for high and medium secure forensic psychiatric services.

Sara joined The Farndon Unit in 2006 as Mental Health Act Administrator and in 2007 became Mental Health Act and Operational Systems Manager.

Sara is also a member of the Institute of MHA Practitioners.

Deborah Lowe – Deputy Hospital Director
Deborah graduated from the University of Nottingham as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in 1998 spending a period of two years working within the Bradford Community Health Trust before relocating back to Nottinghamshire in 2000. 
 
Deborah has over ten years experience in forensic services having worked at the National High Secure Healthcare Services for Women where she started as a staff nurse before progressing to become the Clinical Practice Lead and Advanced Practitioner for the CBT for Psychosis care pathway.  Deborah has a BSc (Hons) degree in Enduring Mental Health Practice from Sheffield Hallam University and until recently worked part time as an Associate Lecturer for the Open University, East Midlands.
 
Initially training as a NNEB Nursery Nurse on leaving school, Deborah remains committed to the development of services for women and families and together with her friends is a charity events organiser and fundraiser for the BMT unit at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
 
Deborah joined Raphael Healthcare in August 2010, leaving a post as Head of Healthcare at HMP Morton Hall.

Anita Scott - Hospitality Services Manager
Anita started her career in mental health as a Care Assistant at Balderton Hospital and continued to work in mental health settings until she left work to start a family.

In 2003 Anita decided upon a change of career and started in catering as a Kitchen Assistant working for Eurest In-store.  She worked in the café of the local Big W store progressing upwards to Supervisor, Acting Manager and then to Catering Manager in 2004.  This followed the company’s internal promotional programme and received an NVQ level 3 in Hospitality Supervision.

Anita joined Raphael Healthcare in May 2006 as Head Chef and became Hospitality Services Manager in 2008.  She manages a team of 11 staff and is responsible for all catering and housekeeping needs at The Farndon Unit.
