The Farndon Unit recruits new Deputy Hospital Director
Raphael Healthcare is pleased to welcome Deborah Lowe to the management team at The Farndon Unit.
Deborah, from Retford, Nottinghamshire, brings with her a wealth of experience gained over 12 years having worked in gender specific services in community and forensic services in both Nottinghamshire and West Yorkshire.
Qualifying as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in 1998, Deborah has remained progressive in her career achieving a BSc Hons degree in Mental Health Practice at Sheffield Hallam University in 2000 and having worked part time as an Associate Lecturer for the Open University for the past three years. Deborah’s specialist area of clinical practice is the assessment and treatment of women experiencing psychosis and complex mental health difficulties.
Deborah joins Raphael following a ten year career in specialist forensic mental health services working as the Clinical Practice Lead for the National High Secure Healthcare Services for Women where she was the lead for the development of the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) pathway for women
Most recently, Deborah was Head of Healthcare at HMP Morton Hall before joining Raphael Healthcare in August 2010. Deborah’s appointment to this new role within The Farndon Unit is integral in further developing the services for the future as a key responsibility will be for the day-to-day management of clinical services within the hospital; further strengthening the nursing teams through experienced leadership in development in professional practice. Deborah has a wealth of experience and knowledge of specialist services which will enrich the strengthening of company’s ethos in developing a high standard of healthcare and quality services within Raphael healthcare.
On her new appointment, Deborah said; “I very much look forward to working Raphael Healthcare and believe that the company evidences a real commitment to developing both innovative and distinctive services which are driven by quality and a high standard of patient care. I believe there is a strong commitment by all in further strengthening the services for women at The Farndon Unit and believe both the company and employees are committed to promoting and encouraging empowerment, choice and self determination for women in their recovery from mental illness and distress.”
Anne Armitage, Hospital Director at the Farndon Unit said; “We welcome Deborah to the team here at Raphael Healthcare. Her vast experience and passion for providing quality services for women with mental health needs will be a valuable asset for Raphael Healthcare and the women we care for.”
