Raphael expands and undergoes recruitment drive
Raphael Healthcare, is expanding The Farndon Unit by adding five additional beds to its existing 41-bed facility. The expansion will create a total of ten jobs for local health workers.
The five new beds will extend the rehabilitation area of the facility, in order to provide support and training to current and discharged patients in preparing them for community living.
As a result of the expansion, Raphael Healthcare will be actively recruiting for five Care Assistants, two Clinical Team Managers, a Clinical Governance Manager, an administration clerk and a hospitality worker for general housekeeping and assistance. Construction will start on the 14th September and is due for completion in March 2010.
Arthur Robinson, Chief Executive of Raphael Healthcare commented, "Our planned expansion is a reflection of the success we have experienced with current and previous patients under our care. It has been proven that patients benefit greatly from placements in rehabilitation apartments as a means of preparing them for community living. As a result, we have decided to invest in the expansion of our successful rehabilitation area."
Raphael Healthcare opened The Farndon Unit, its first low-secure hospital, in Newark in June 2006. The unit provides a low-secure environment and accommodation for female patients between the ages of 18-65 that have been assessed as having complex mental healthcare needs.
The Farndon Unit offers a multi-disciplinary team of specialist health experts to assist with patient care and rehabilitation and prides itself on exceptional facilities, including a gym, an Occupational Therapy suite, Art Therapy facilities, an IT and education suite, courtyard and garden.
Arthur added, "Our care facilities are staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of health experts that provide exceptional care for our patients – and we are excited to welcome new members into our team as our expansion continues."
